I am a fully qualified counsellor providing face-to-face and online sessions for adults, children and young people.
We all experience emotional difficulties at some point in our lives, and when we do, it can help to talk about how you are feeling in a safe and confidential space. I offer a warm and compassionate counselling relationship to support you to find ways of coping. Together we can explore solutions for the challenges experienced by you or your child.
My varied training has lead me to work in an integrative way drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques. This enables me to provide each one of my clients with a customised approach, tailored to their individual needs and circumstances.
Person Centred Therapy
My practice is grounded in person-centred counselling. I hold the belief that in every person there is a deep longing to be seen and understood. Using reflective counselling skills, and offering empathy in a relationship that is free from judgement, I will help you to understand and explore your thoughts and feelings freely and at your own pace. The aim of person-centred counselling is to support the client, enabling them to be more aware of their issues, rather than offering a solution to them. My belief is that you have the ability to grow and heal, and that my role is to support you to understand your patterns of behaviour. The insights and awareness you may experience, would enable you to make changes and live a more fulfilled life.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
I also use cognitive behavioural therapy which focuses on current issues and how thoughts, feelings and behaviour may be maintaining those issues. By working together, we will explore the changes you could make to negative patterns and create goals to work towards.
